Homemade Aromatherapy Perfumes

Homemade Aromatherapy Perfumes
Before I discuss to you how to make your own homemade Aromatherapy perfumes , let us first know some basic information about aromatherapy.

Let us start by defining Aromatherapy. What is Aromatherapy?

Here are some collective definitions of what Aromatherapy is:

"Aromatherapy is... the skilled and controlled use of essential oils for physical and emotional health and well being." Valerie Cooksley

“Aromatherapy is the practice of using volatile oils – known as essential oils - to promote psychological and physical well-being.
Aromatherapy is a caring, hands-on therapy which seeks to induce relaxation, to increase energy, to reduce the effects of stress and to restore lost balance to mind, body and soul." Robert Tisserand

"Aromatherapy can be defined as the controlled use of essential oils to maintain and promote physical, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing." Gabriel Mojay

AromatherapyFor me, smelling essential oils is what aromatherapy is. The scents of these essential oils are picked up by the olfactory bulb (a zillion nerves in your brain) and within 20 seconds, every nerve in your body has delivered the message contained in the essential oil.

You might be wondering what this message is. Essential oils can support your body while it heals from physical and emotional conditions. The body does the healing, the oils do the supporting.

Essential oils seem to have many health-promoting uses: Disinfecting, reducing inflammation, increasing circulation, speeding the healing of wounds and burns, relieving headaches, reducing pain, and relieving congestion--to name just a few. They also improve mental function such as calming mind chatter, refreshing the mind, increasing concentration, and promoting inspiration.

Other interesting studies show that combination of oils have emotion-producing characteristics like increasing joy, promoting forgiveness, and creating harmony and hope.

What I have discussed so far was just a small fraction of a broad topic about aromatherapy. There's still a lot more to know, learn and explore about the wonders of Aromatherapy.
